Pepito arrived a year ago today here on the land. Such a special lil guy 🦄💚⚡️and much love for his elderly mama for providing for him. He was a surprise - a wild stallion broke into Nelly’s pasture in Vallecitos…and well…now Pepito exists…
First flood of the season, 6:30am-4:30pm 💦💦💦 Testing out the new system funded by the Acequia Cost Share Program sponsored by the East Rio Arriba Soil & Water Conservation District. Many thanks to the kind folks there that offered so much guidance🐞Definitely a major improvement. Participated in the NM Healthy Soil Cover Crop Cost Share Program. Testing it out on the top acre this year. ( 1-2) Purchased 2 seed mixes, one for spring and another for fall planting. Spring mix consists of Triticale, Arvika Peas & Common Vetch (3) Hydrate the soil (4) light discing (5) hand sowing seed (6) cover seed by dragging soil back over (7-15) watch it grow with intermittent watering as needed (16) cost of the seed 100% reimbursed! ….earlier this past Spring: @studiolouobjects hosted a fun filled glass sun-catcher workshop here. We’ve been chatting about another one for early September🤞::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Intro to Stained Glass - Suncatchers
In this workshop students learned basic stained glass techniques to make their own suncatcher from start to finish. Students completed a finished piece ready to display! Pattern making, copper foiling, glass cutting, and soldering were taught through demonstrations and hands-on instructions. All materials were provided and no experience required.
